Here’s some trivia that might make you feel good. I used my old fashioned calculator on Cole’s “All Time ATS Records” to see how these “experts” did as a group against the spread. I arbitrarily included only those with at least 100 picks all-time (to eliminate those with very small samples). If my calculations are correct, the combined record is 27,729 wins, 30,785 losses and 1035 ties. That’s a pretty ugly 47.3% win rate. There were 72 “experts” with at least 100 all-time picks. 21 of them had a profitable win rate all-time (assuming a -110 vig). So 29% of them were profitable all-time. That’s undoubtedly way above the success rate of the average Joe sports gambler.
Great info
I follow only Van Pelt. He has done well for the three years I have bet his picks. He is 1 or 2 games under .500 this year. Hoping for a breakout this week.
Btw, who was the top couple pickers if you have that?
