2012-13 Bowl Season: BCS BIG BOARD BONANZA!

The day has finally arrived folks.  Tonight is a very bittersweet night for college football fans and insane gamblers alike, as we crown this year’s champion and put the sport to bed for 8 months.  For this reason, we must make the most of it and savor every minute of today, which also means it is time for Cole’s BCS BIG BOARD BONANZA WITH PICKS AND OTHER THINGS!!!  I will be updating all day long burning up the DVR to make sure I get you the updates on who is picking which team in tonight’s big game.  I will be taking you right up to kickoff where we will *HOPEFULLY* get one more headgear pick from Coach Corso before college football hibernation.  So make sure you check back throughout the day because who knows how things will develop.

With a current tally of 36 votes, our panel of experts is currently sitting at 24-12 in favor of Bama over Notre Dame in tonight’s game.

2012 Regular Season Standings

As we ramp up to bowl season this Saturday, I thought we would take a moment to review where everyone stands heading into bowl season.  This has been a very strong year at the top, with Tom Luginbill currently sitting on top of things at 80% right (I’m not counting SVP or Michael Smith with 4 picks).  Pat Forde has been on a tear this year, and Lou Holtz is looking good headed into bowl season thanks to Notre Dame running the table.  Most years, his Notre Dame undefeated predictions lead to his demise.  On the other end of the spectrum is rookie Brian Griese who is trying his hardest to tank this season, and Mark May who is the victim of Dr. Lou’s historic run.  I’ll be updating all week with bowl picks, so check back often because who knows when the picks might start rolling in!

Week 14 2012: Results are in!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am afraid we have come to a close for the regular season.  It’ll be alright though, because that means it is bowl season.  It is only Monday after week 14, but some of our experts are already throwing out bowl predictions on ESPN.  These picks may change, and as always we will be officially tracking their latest picks, but its still exciting if you’re me.  I’ll be tallying up the regular season results to post sometime this week so we can see where everyone stands.  With that knowledge we will know who are contenders for the 2012 championship here at Cole’s Gameday Blog, and we will also be able to keep an eye on who will finish at the bottom of the barrel.

Anyways, week 14’s results are in.  It was a light schedule, so it was a little lighter on picks than usual.  This week’s big winner is Dari Nowkhah at 9-1, with other winning performances coming from Lee Corso (10-2), Desmond Howard (6-1), Pat Forde (14-4), and Mark May making a rare appearance at 5-1.  Losers this week are Herbie (6-4), Lou Holtz (2-2), Christian Fauria (1-2) and Mark Schlabach (1-2).  Special guest picker Matt Ryan went 6-4.  Lee Corso also nailed his headgear pick going with Bama over Georgia.  The rest you can see below, so look and see how your favorite/most hated personality did this week.
