Week 8 2023: CFB gambling picks are graded; results are in!
Week 8 of our college football season is in the books and the picks from our gamblers are graded. Let’s jump right in.
Winners this week include Bud Elliott at 7-3, Phil Steele at 4-1, Kelly Stewart at 4-1, Rico Bosco at 6-3, Emory Hunt at 7-4, and Wes Reynolds at 7-4-1. However this week’s big winner was Barrett Sallee going 11-6 on his picks on cbssports.com. Congratulations to Barrett on this week’s win.
Our money line winner this week was Bud Elliott for a profit of 5.65 units. Danny Sprinkles AKA Danny Kanell continues to put up wins with a profit of 2.1 units this week.
I have heard from a lot people hating on Stanford Steve’s record on the College Gameday fridge recently. I don’t usually do this but I feel the need to say some things.
- I don’t know Stanford Steve. I have no affiliation with Stanford Steve, College Gameday or ESPN.
- Gamblers have hot streaks. Gamblers have cold streaks. It is unavoidable.
- His record on the fridge may be bad so far (12-21-2, 26.36%), but his overall record this season from what I have tracked is 65-56-5 (53.72%) which means he is still profitable. If you’re only paying attention to the fridge you’re missing out.
- His record dating back to 2014 is 465-357-22 (56.57%). He has absolutely crushed it for almost a full decade and you’re hating on a subset of his picks over a subset of weeks. His long term win rate is second to none in my database.
- Nobody is forcing you to bet his fridge picks. Nobody is forcing you to watch him.
