Posted on September 2, 2022September 2, 2022 by gamedaycole

The newly revamped College Gameday podcast was back today with more picks for your weekend. I haven’t decided if I’m counting Bill Connelly’s picks in the official record yet because he’s being forced to pick these games and often notes he doesn’t see a big edge on a game. Use these for your entertainment purposes only.

Pete Thamel:
Illinois+1.5 vs Indiana
Oregon+17 vs Georgia (Georgia wins)
Cinci+6.5 vs Arkansas (Cinci outright)
Utah-3 vs Florida
Ohio State-17 vs Notre Dame
Liberty+3.5 vs Southern Miss

Rece Davis:
Illinois+1.5 vs Indiana
Oregon+17 vs Georgia (Georgia wins)
Arkansas-6.5 vs Cinci
Utah-3 vs Florida
Ohio State-17 vs Notre Dame
North Texas+12 vs SMU

Bill Connelly:
Illinois+1.5 vs Indiana
Georgia-17 vs Oregon
Arkansas-6.5 vs Cinci
Utah-3 vs Florida
Notre Dame+17 vs Ohio State
SDSU-6 vs Arizona

Week 0 2022: CFB Picks from the College Gameday podcast (Rece Davis, Pete Thamel, Bill Connelly)!

Posted on August 26, 2022August 26, 2022 by gamedaycole

This season ESPN has revamped their existing college football podcast and called it the College Gameday podcast. Your hosts on Fridays are going to be Rece Davis, the newly acquired Pete Thamel, and Bill Connelly. They will be picking games against the spread and competing for steak because they like steak and I like steak too. Below are their week 0 picks against the spread.

Note: I am NOT counting these in Bill Connelly’s official pick record unless he makes it clear these are official picks. During the season he usually releases his weekly SP+ projections and puts official picks on ESPN Chalk. These guys on the podcast are competing for fun and picking the same slate of games so I doubt very much these are worth playing, but this is where he stands on these games at least.

Rece Davis:
Utah State-27.5 vs UConn
Charlotte+8 vs FAU
Hawaii+8 vs Vanderbilt
Illinois-11 vs Wyoming
Northwestern+13 vs Nebraska

Pete Thamel:
Utah State-27.5 vs UConn
FAU-8 vs Charlotte
Hawaii+8 vs Vanderbilt
Illinois-11 vs Wyoming
Northwestern+13 vs Nebraska

Bill Connelly:
I think he picked the Utah State/UConn under but didn’t specify a line
Charlotte+8 vs FAU
Hawaii+8 vs Vanderbilt
Illinois-11 vs Wyoming
Nebraska-13 vs Northwestern

Week 11 2020: #CFB Picks are graded; results are in!

Posted on November 16, 2020 by gamedaycole

Week 11 is in the books and the college football picks are graded.

Winners this week are @GamedayJen/Brian Jones (both 8-0 straight up) and Stanford Steve/Pete Thamel (both 5-1 ATS). Congratulations to all competitors this week.

Lee Corso went 6-1 on the week, and I guess lost his headgear pick? Since they were at the Masters he picked Brooks Koepka to win, and Brooks did not win. Bear’s Boar is on an absolute free-fall, going 0-3 again this week totally an 0-9 run currently. Super Dog picks went a collective 2-3 on the week with David and Rece booking winners. Celebrity guest Jack Nicklaus had very little to offer as far as football analysis, and seemed extremely disinterested in the segment, but managed to book a winner at 5-2. Pat McAfee went 0-2 on his picks against the spread this week, I’m sure much to the delight of the Bear.

Everyone else was somewhere in the middle so check out the full slate of results below to see how your favorite (or most hated) personality did.
