2018-19 Season: Big announcement, changes coming!

Hello everyone and welcome back. It is officially open season here at GamedayCole.com and we will be back in full force providing all of the picks and predictions from your favorite (and most hated) personalities.

I have a very exciting announcement to make. Starting this season, I am teaming up with someone who I will be referring to as Chuck the Stat Guy. Chuck is a professor of statistics at a well-respected school and has his PhD is statistical analysis, and for some reason he is generous enough to help me figure some things out. Aside from his professional duties he has a passion for sports analytics, and this somehow qualifies. He will be helping me sanitize my data, standardize my data, automate various tasks, and eventually we hope to bring you some really cool reports and visualizations of everything I track. For now he chooses to remain anonymous because he can’t risk ruining his career by associating with me, but I am grateful to have him.

In the short-term, not much will change. The posts might be formatted a little different than previous seasons, but that is because we are standardizing and automating some tasks. As the season moves along, the appearance of things might change week to week as we continue to clean up a decade of sloppy work. I literally started this blog almost ten years ago tracking picks on a legal pad, then a text file, then a chaotic Excel spreadsheet, and it is time to join the 21st century.

This partnership with Chuck the Stat Guy is a work in progress, and I hope you are as excited as we are to add him to the ever-growing group of underpaid contributors to this site.

Preseason picks will be coming out soon so stay tuned!
