Week 12 2015: College picks are graded; results are in! #cfb #cfbpicks

Welcome back once again college football fans.  We had some shakeups yesterday in the college football world, which will presumably shake up the playoff rankings come Tuesday night.  Along with those shakeups, we also had some shakeups in our expert rankings this week as the best continue to separate themselves from the rest.  Let’s dive right in.

Winners this week include everyone’s favorite 3rd string QB Tim Tebow (4-0), Booger McFarland (5-2), Andre Adelson (6-2), Charles Arbuckle (4-2), Kevin Carter (6-3), Colin Cowherd (5-3), Jason Sehorn (4-2), and Clint Stoerner (4-0).  However, this week’s only BIG winner is none other than Kirk Herbstreit, who booked a 9-2 week on Gameday.  Let’s all congratulate him on his success this week.

Losers this week include Chris Fallica (7-8, 4-5 ATS) who is finally starting to cool off after a heater to start the season, Marcus Spears (1-3), Stanford Steve (2-5-1, 1-2-1 ATS), Chris Doering (1-3), and Brad Edwards (2-3, 1-3 ATS).  However, this week’s official loss will be credited to Ryen Russillo who booked a solid 0-4 record, including 0-2 against the spread.  It is pretty easy for me to say in retrospect that laying 14 to Sparty was a bad idea.  So I will go ahead and do exactly that.  Better luck next week Russillo.

Other notes include Corso missing another headgear pick on the year, bringing him to 3-9 on the year.  Charley the Cat missed her pick as well, going with the Buckeyes over Sparty.  That brings her to 4-8 on the year, but she remains one game up on Corso for the time being.  Jennifer booked a solid 8-4 on the week, which is good enough for the silver medal this week behind Herbstreit.  Celebrity guest picker Archie Griffin may be a two-time Heisman winner, but he booked a 4-6 record yesterday in his first appearance on Gameday.  Our last peculiar note of the day is that in yesterday’s big game, our expert panel picked 25 to 1 in favor of Ohio State versus Michigan State.  I’m not sure we have ever seen a game picked that unevenly and ending up wrong since I’ve been running this blog.  Someone should start a blog to analyze my blog and then we could find out.  Anyways, the lone soul who was brave enough to come out of the woodworks and back Sparty was a rare appearance from Bill Plaschke on Around the Horn on Friday.  For this effort, we will award Bill Plaschke with one gold star.  That brings his lifetime total of gold stars to one.

Everyone else was somewhere in the middle of this mess, so check out the full slate of results below to find out how your favorite (or most hated) personality did this week!

2014-15 Bowl Season: Results are in! #cfbplayoff #cfbchampionship #bowlmania

The 2014-15 Bowl season has come to an end, which I guess means the actual season has come to an end, but let’s focus on bowl season for now.  As you know, the majority of pickers went with the 6-point-underdog Buckeyes to beat Oregon, but how about the rest of the games?  We will start off by crowning the 2014-15 Bowl Season champion.  Coming in with a record of 25-14 is 2012-13 Bowl Season champion, and 2013-14 Bowl Season co-champion, Robert Smith.  That is three years in a row winning or splitting the bowl season championship, so we are certainly impressed.  Here he is at our awards ceremony claiming his award!

Robert Smith: 2014-15 Bowl Champion!
