Week 12 2018: #CFB Picks w/ Phil Steele!

Here’s the week 12 picks from Phil Steele via the Behind the Bets podcast with Doug Kezirian.  They talked a lot more games than this and gave out leans on a lot of games so listen to the podcast if you’re wondering about a particular game.  The 5 “official” games from Phil were Minnesota, Miss/Vandy over, Wazzu, Iowa, and Miami, but he was very strong on the UNLV and ECU picks so I’m counting them.  He gave out Minnesota+2 but it was -1 when I checked this afternoon so that must have moved quite a bit since they recorded.  Do what you want with that one.

As always I will be updating with more picks if he gives them out on the Campus Conversation podcast, the Inside the Pressbox preview, or anywhere else I find him picking games.

Week 11 2018: #CFB Picks are graded; results are in!

Week 11 picks and predictions are graded an the results are in.  Let’s dive right in.

Winners this week included David Pollack (5-0), Tim Tebow (6-1), Mark May (8-2), Desmond Howard (11-3), Lou Holtz (7-2), Stewart Mandel (8-3 straight up), Kirk Herbstreit (11-4), Chris Doering (5-2), and Marcus Spears (5-2).  In fact, I only had one lone expert in the loss column this week picking straight up, and it was Joel Klatt (1-2).  We had lots of ATS winners too, including Brett McMurphy (6-1 ATS), Dusty Dvoracek (4-1 ATS), Rufus Peabody (3-1-1 ATS), Dave Portnoy (9-5-1 ATS), Dan Katz (9-5-2 ATS), and lots more.  I’m giving this week’s official win as a split decision between Paul Finebaum (10-0) and @GamedayJen (13-1), so congratulations to both.

Losers were few and far between, so Pat Forde takes it this week at 2-4 against the spread.

Lee Corso went 9-4 on his picks this week, including a win with Clemson over Boston College in the headgear pick.  Special guest celebrity Chris O’Donnell had a great week at 10-3, but hopefully the Chainsmokers will be available again soon.  Bear’s Bank went 1-2 on the week, with Fallica going 3-4 ATS overall.

Week 11 2018: #CFB Picks w/ Phil Steele!

Here’s the week 11 picks from Phil Steele via the Behind the Bets podcast.  I’ll be updating if he gives out more picks on Campus Conversation, Inside the Pressbox preview, or any other appearances I come across.  He said he has Ohio State winning by 7 (line is 3.5) but it isn’t one of his plays this week.  Georgia wasn’t one of his official picks, but when asked by Doug about the game said he’d side with Georgia so I marked it down.
